Exercise Programming
Get the structure, accountability, and expert guidance to help you break through plateaus, return from injury with confidence, and build strength safely—without guessing what to do next.
At OPTC, exercise programming is designed and overseen by Dr. Courtney Smith, DPT, combining clinical expertise with intelligent training principles to create programming that is individualized, practical, and sustainable.
This service begins with an in-person movement assessment, but your programming is delivered virtually and performed on your own schedule in the environment that works best for you—whether that is your home gym, garage, apartment gym, local fitness center, or a commercial gym like Planet Fitness.
Training Designed Specifically for You
Unlike templated fitness programs, Exercise Programming at OPTC is:
Individualized
Movement-informed
Progression-based
Built around real life
Your program is designed around how you move, your injury history, your current capacity, your goals, and the time, space, and equipment you actually have access to. That means your plan is not only effective—it is realistic enough to follow consistently.
Virtual Programming with Ongoing Coaching
After your initial in-person assessment, your workouts are delivered through TrueCoach, an interactive coaching app that allows you to access your program, view exercise instructions, track completion, and receive feedback.
You complete your workouts independently, wherever you choose to train, while Dr. Smith provides ongoing guidance, instruction, and accountability remotely.
Support includes:
Personalized weekly programming by Dr. Smith
Exercise videos and instructions in the TrueCoach app
Ongoing feedback and communication through the app
Weekly live virtual check-ins
Program updates and progressions as needed
You are never left guessing what to do, whether you are progressing appropriately, or how to adjust when life changes.
Who Is Exercise Programming For?
Exercise programming at OPTC is ideal for:
Individuals returning to training after injury
People stuck in recurring pain or fitness plateaus
Active adults who want smarter, safer training
Those who want expert guidance without needing in-person sessions for every workout
Anyone who values accountability, structure, and individualized progressions
You do not need to be a current physical therapy patient to participate.
A Natural Next Step After Physical Therapy
This is also an excellent option for OPTC patients who have completed physical therapy and are ready to transition into structured exercise.
Many people reach a point where pain has improved, movement has been restored, and the next goal is no longer just to feel better—but to build strength, resilience, and confidence. Exercise programming helps bridge that gap with a plan that is thoughtful, progressive, and tailored to the individual.
